Management team

Mark Aizlewood

Mark was born in Newport on 1 October 1959. His career has been well chronicled and included time at Football League clubs Luton Town, Charlton Athletic, Leeds United, Bradford City, Bristol City and Cardiff City.
He has 39 international caps for Wales, mainly playing in midfield, and is a qualified UEFA coach. He was appointed manager of Carmarthen Town in January 2012. His autobiography, Defending Myself, was published in 2009 to critical acclaim. Mark is an Educational Consultant.

Neil Smothers

Assistant manager/player
Welsh Premier experience with UWIC Inter Cardiff, Cwmbran Town and Port Talbot before joining Carmarthen who also played for Newport County and Cefn Forest.
Spent a year coaching and playing in Australia before returning to Wales with Bridgend Town and then rejoining Carmarthen as player/coach in November 2011. Is the assistant manager.

Danny Thomas

Danny is a legend at Richmond Park having been the hub of Carmarthen’s most successful European campaign ten years ago. Born on 13 May 1985, he played for Wales Under-17 and Under-19 sides while spending three years as a professional at Cardiff City.
He joined Carmarthen in 2005 and other than a season with Haverfordwest County has always played for the Old Gold. He retired in 2012 in order to coach at the Cardiff City Academy but has now returned as a player/coach. He is the Sports Development Officer at Caerphilly Council.
