FOR the second successive match Carmarthen suffered the agony of conceding a goal in the closing minutes to deny them the draw that they had battled keenly to secure, this time against a strong Connah's Quay side which has remained close to the top of the Welsh Premier League since the start of the season, having finished runners-up to TNS last term.

IF Carmarthen are to lift themselves out of the relegation places any time soon then Prestatyn, going into this match standing just one position higher in the Welsh Premier League table with only one win this season, should have been a most likely place to start getting more points.

CARMARTHEN recognised the opening of their long-awaited new 3G surface at Richmond Park with this friendly fixture against Welsh League side Cwmamman United but overall it was hardly an exhibition of sparkling, celebration football befitting the occasion despite Town fielding a very strong side against a team that currently lies in the lower half of WL Division One.

AFTER the euphoria of last week’s stunning victory at Bala, Carmarthen fans were swiftly brought back to the harsh realities of life at the wrong end of the Welsh Premier League table as they witnessed this distinctly dismal performance against fellow strugglers Barry who, with a display of frequent fast open football, thoroughly deserved their success.

THE noticeable signs of improvement shown in Carmarthen’s last match at Bangor further developed in dramatic fashion with this remarkable performance at Bala which abruptly ended Town’s miserable sequence of defeats since the opening of the Welsh Premier season.
